House is FOR SALE!

Not sure many of you read my post back in January about things that have been going on/us working towards...but we finally listed our house for sale last week and it goes out in the local newspaper this week! Eeek so exciting, nerve-racking, and bitter-sweet all at the same time!

The last couple months we've been busy going back & fourth with our future house stuff, got that contract signed, and waiting on the title company to do their thing. And we've also been busy getting our bathroom & kitchen redone/updated, plus other little things to get the house ready. In the middle of all of that, I've help hosted one of my besties (Mel) baby showers in KC (I'll do a post on that soon), we celebrated our 2nd anniversary this last weekend (crazy time is flying), seen George Strait in concert for the 4th time (and apparently the last), D busy with his Fire Fighter 1 classes & test, D passing his Fire Fighter 1 test (now he's certified and registered -- so unbelievably proud of my husband) and tried to stay completely sane while being so darn busy. Well we've survived, now just to get our house sold! :)

Bathroom (you can't see all of our updates, but the toilet is one of them.
The shower/tub we completely ripped out and put a new tub & shower walls up. It looks so much better!

Bedroom

Kitchen - we added the backsplash finally, and we LOVE it! We wished we would've done it sooner!

Our home is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, with oversized detached garage. The house has been recently renovated/updated, partial basement w/ crawl space, and completely fenced in backyard with a small garden shed. The oversized garage measures 30'x48', has concrete floors, heated, and was built 3 years ago. If you know anyone looking for a home in "smalltown" western ks, please have them contact me for more details.

Shed...concrete is done!

I hope you guys are all still following the long process of our shed being finished!  Well last week we finally were able to get the concrete poured in the shed, and then we took it 10 feet out.  We also had them cut out the existing curb by the street so we would be able to just drive right up into it without a problem.  And for now, there is sand between the new curb and where the concrete stops.  We will eventually (not sure when) get rocks to fill in.  It would have been way too expensive to fill it all in with concrete, so we compromised!  Here are some pictures...

we can finally park in it...btw who is that handsome man in there?!

Snuck a picture of D in his truck!

As always, stay tuned for more progress (we have garage doors ordered, and then we will hook up the electrical)!

What I've been up too the last couple of days..

Today is just a random blog post, a conglomeration of sorts, because that's all I've got for you!  Here we go...

The last 2 nights are catching up with me...loss of sleep that is!  I can't take anymore of this going to bed at 11:30 stuff...I'm used to going to bed between 10-10:30.  Seriously though, we've been a little busy the last couple nights.  Monday afternoon, we had an ant breakout, and I'm a little OCD when it comes to those little buggers!  So for two hours straight I cleaned the pantry out, killing every little ant in sight, and preparing for when they attack again.  I was not happy.  I also had watering to do outside, laundry, and tons of housework to catch up on...it was a disaster zone!  It's been so hot here, we've been grilling, so we had some Dry Aged Steaks, BBQ Beans, and Corn on the Cob for supper.  So I was tired by the time I was able to sit down at 11.  However, I managed to get through it.

Last night, I worked on a Baby Subway Tile for a lady who contacted me after seeing Maycee's Subway Tile...I was thralled when she contacted me.  She wanted it to be exactly like Maycee's and luckily I had the same tile and pearl stickers to do it.  It was my first official sale and it was for baby Lucinda (loving that name!)...go me!  I'm leaning even more towards opening an Etsy Shop now (stay tuned ;))!  I was able to finish it, wrap it up in some paper, and shipped it out this morning!  I'm pretty proud of myself if you can't tell! ;)

Love the pink pearl design!

wrapped up and ready to ship! :)

On top of working on that, we grilled some Hebrew National Beef Hot dogs (the best I might add), Jalapeno Boats, and some Red Peppers and Onions.  It was fabulous!

And then there was another ant breakout, but in a different spot...that didn't take long to destroy though.  Anyone else having ant problems this time of year?

D's been busy too being a handyman!  He's been working in the shed after he gets off work to get it ready for concrete; he got the water line and sewer line ready and they should start laying it tomorrow morning.  At lunch they were prepping for it...so exciting!

And today I'm not feeling the best...went to the Dr and got an antibiotic, so I'm hoping to feel better soon.  I'm also hoping tonight is a little more relaxing...maybe order some take out, watch a little tube, and pack for the weekend which starts tomorrow night after work.  Now where we headin'??  We are off to my {small} hometown for a town celebration, which happens every 10 years!  It will be great to see family, friends, and classmates.

Have any of your schedules been hectic lately?!

Oh and an update on our wedding planning...We are meeting with the pastor this coming Monday for the first time (kind of nervy!), and I scheduled my 1st Wedding Dress appointment (so excited!)!!  We already booked the reception hall awhile back, and we'll be booking the other big stuff soon!!!  Woohoo!

Day 3: Shed is done!!

Day 3...They finished building our shed yesterday (Thursday) and we are super stoked!!  I still am in awe that it only took 3 days for them to build that huge shed!  I believe it's 30'x48'...so it's pretty big!  We plan to park both of our vehicles in there (currently his truck goes under the carport and my car is parked wherever!), so that will be nice!  Also, we'll have a little bathroom in there, and a work bench area for D so he can work on projects!  Here are pictures from Day 3...

HERE IS THE FINISHED PRODUCT!

EAST SIDE

WEST SIDE...IGNORE THE CARPORT AREA, THAT WILL EVENTUALLY
BE OUR PATIO AREA WITH NO CAR PORT. AND OUR BACKYARD WILL HAVE
AN APPROPRIATE FENCE, THEN THE 2 DOORS ON 1 SIDE WILL MAKE SENSE!

BACK SIDE...THERE IS A PIECE OF TRIM MISSING ON THE CORNER, WE KNOW...
THEY'LL BE BACK IN A FEW WEEKS TO PUT UP ANOTHER SHED IN
OUR TOWN, SO THEY'LL PUT IT ON THEN!

It's not completely finished though, we still have some work to do...
* Get the concrete laid inside (having a local company come in)
* Hook the electrical up (D and a couple of our other guys on the Electrical side of the business will do that)
* Order and install the 2 Garage Doors (probably going to have the company install them
* Get the sewer system and bathroom stuff plumbed in (D will help a friend do that)

We purchased our shed through Mid-America Pole Barn Company out of Oklahoma!  Please click on the link if you'd like more info!  We are really pleased with them and the builders!  While they were building our shed, they had several people stop and get brochures, so hopefully they'll drum up a lot of business from our shed!  Shoot me a message if you have any questions!!!

Stay tuned for more updates coming down the pipes!!!  Have a great weekend!!! :)

Day 2: Shed is almost done

**This post was supposed to go out Wednesday evening, but instead I blogged about some really cute coasters, and then followed it up with Day 1 progress!**

Did you see what they all did on Day 1?!  I still can't believe how fast they are...and there are ONLY 4 guys!

They showed up at 7:30am on Wednesday Morning to start getting the roof trusses up.  After that they needed to get the installation up, and followed by the tin exterior walls.  I don't know all of the "technical" stuff they did, but I can tell you that the shed is almost done!!!  Here are some pictures....

about to call it a day!

As you can tell, it didn't get done in 2 Days like they thought (the wind is to blame), so stay tuned for a Day 3 which I'll post tomorrow...and it will be done!!! ;)

Day 1: Shed is going up!

**This post was meant to be posted Tuesday evening, but time got a away from me, so here it is 1 day behind!**

The Shed builders showed up Tuesday morning at our house at 7:30am, and were working by 7:45am!  They told D that they would be done by Wednesday night (holy cow that's quick), hopefully the weather holds out for them!  Here are some pictures along the way from Tuesday...

Materials have arrived!

Awhile back I showed you the work that was beginning for our huge shed, and today they delivered the materials to build it and will start on Monday!!!  How exciting, right?!

Materials for our shed!

Materials!
Ignore all of those weeds...we haven't gotten to the backyard yet!
Well there's a little more that needs to be done before Monday.  Last night, D, his Dad, and a friend, trenched the water line and got it ready to go.

Trenching, getting closer!

Filling the dirt in!

We still need to have the city come out and fill in where they dug up for the water meter, and we need to have the dirt company we used come pack the pad back down again.  The contractors will be out Monday to start building our shed, so it won't be long and it will be up!  Stay tuned...

PS...Bernie was "helping" me water the grass last night!  Check him out on the front porch, checking things out!  He got his hair cut last week...I just love him!!

Trying to avoid the camera!

He thinks he spotted something, but it was probably just a twig!

PPS...I promise I have a cute project to share either tomorrow or Friday!!
