I was going to do a post about some awesome pancakes that I made last night, but it looks like it's gonna have to wait until Monday. I can't get my pictures to upload on to here for some reason. But let's just say these pancakes are so yummy and I can't wait to make them again. Like I might not even be able to make regular pancakes ever again, good!
Anyways, D and I are off to get a 1/2 a cow (yeah, I said a 1/2 cow), and are splitting it up with D's parents. I am really excited, because I won't have to shop for beef for a really long time! There is 400 some pounds, so we'll get around 200 pounds of hamburger, roasts, delish steak, and etc. My friend raises his own cattle, and they are raised without any hormones or antibiotics, so it's the good stuff! They used to provide the beef for Laura's Lean meat that is sold (or was) in Target and other places like that. I am really excited to go get it!!
Tomorrow we'll probably do some housework, yard work, and then we'll be off to a Firefighters Appreciation Dinner. (D is a volunteer firefighter and I can't wait to see him in uniform ;) ) Sunday my dad and grandparents are coming down to till up part of our backyard for our garden next year!
I hope you all have a great weekend! :)

Winter is on it's way, so we must prepare!!
Winter is on its way and we must prepare! Burr... Yes, we've already turned our heater on (last weekend), taken out our A/C units (don't judge, a lot of older homes in the area don't have central air), and getting ready to cover our windows in plastic (you would be surprised on the amount of air that sneaks in and out of your window cracks!).
Wednesday after work I went home and decided it was time to get our Hyacinth bulbs planted. It froze here last night, so good thing I got them planted before! There are already pink and purplish blue Hydrangeas planted and some other flowers bulbs in the front (not really sure what they are!). So in between the Hydrangeas I planted the Hyacinth...so come spring we'll see how everything blooms out! Here is the front of our house when we purchased it at the beginning of June (it looks a little different now, it's kinda bare in the picture). The "bush" looking things are the Hydrangea plants before they bloomed.
Wednesdays night D normally goes to Poker, and Bernie and I bond! After we got the bulbs planted and moved our plants from the porch to my office, we snuggled right up on the couch and got caught up on my shows. He also got his haircut Wednesday, and he looks so cute! I think he looks like a little puppy!

Halloween Fun!
Last Friday (the day before the Halloween Party) I had no idea what to be for Halloween. I thought I might be the "sexy devil", but I couldn't find my tights...I thought I might be a nurse, but the I remembered when I wore that costume a few years ago it was really hot...and then I thought I might be a "sexy witch", but that costume wouldn't have completed D's costume.
Ok so enter in Friday night, we went over to D's parents house for supper and we got to talking. His mom has a bunch of costumes, and happens to have a few Nun outfits; Dustin has a Priest outfit he wore a few years ago, so I thought that would be perfect. However, we put a little spin on it and decided to make me into a Pregnant Nun! (Sorry if this offends anyone, but it was all just for fun!)
Also, my good friend Danielle came to visit me Saturday (it was a nice surprise!). We spent most of Saturday afternoon girl talking, laughing, and catching up (earlier in the week she had shared some really exciting news of her own with me)! We had a lot of fun! Here are some pictures from Saturday Nights Halloween Party that we went to!
Sunday was Halloween, and I must say I was a little disappointed...we only had 1 Trick-or-Treater stop by. He was one of our friends little boy, who made the cutest little monster EVER! I think it's because #1 we live off of the main highway as you enter town...#2 it used to be a Beauty Shop before we bought it in June, so not sure people are used to us living there yet...#3 there aren't many houses around ours. The neighbors didn't even stop by, but maybe they don't celebrate Halloween...I don't know. We aren't scary people, and our porch light was on, so I really don't know what the deal-io was! So now we have a bunch of candy leftover and we've already been eating it since we got it a few weeks ago...ugh! D's parents on the other hand live in the "rich" neighborhood, and they had over 150 kids...they ran out of candy and had to start giving out those little bags of chips!
You are probably wondering what Dani's exciting news was...but I'm probably going to have to do a separate post on that another time! Stay tuned!

Peanut Butter Bars and what to be for Halloween?!
Yesterday I posted about our weekend in the big city (last weekend), and mention I made these awesome Peanut Butter Bars that I found here (again, thank you Mandy over at Sugar Bee Craft Edition for sharing these lovely, yummy, delish treats with us). They are really simple, and oh.my.gosh. to die for! It's like a glorified Peanut Butter cookie, you know the ones that have the Hersheys Kisses on the top?! Yeah...that's what I'm talking about!
Ingredients (for cookie sheet - shown in picture):
1 ½ C butter (3 sticks)
1 ½ C sugar
1 ½ C brown sugar
1 ½ tsp baking soda
¾ tsp salt
1 ½ tsp vanilla
Ingredients for Topping (approx only!):
3 tbsp powdered sugar
Milk for desired thickness
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
2. Press into a Cookie Sheet
3. Bake at 20-25 min at 350*
4. Turn off oven, remove pan from oven and quickly pour chocolate chips over bars
It's Friday and I still haven't a clue what to dress up as for Halloween. Last year I was a hippie, and of
course it was a friends costume, so I can't be that again. Oh and Bernie will be a Skeleton like he has been the last 2 years!

The year before I was a "devil", but the dress is a little skimpy (if I only had black tights/leggings). (No picture of this...sorry!)
Saturday night there is a band playing at one of the local bars, so I'm pretty sure that's where we'll be! I'll be posting next week to show you what I decided to be!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN, EVERYONE!

Holiday Mart & Chiefs Game weekend!
Last week I mentioned we were going out of town for a long weekend filled with shopping and the KC Chiefs football game. Here is a little tidbit of all we did over the weekend, along with a lot of pictures!!
Friday afternoon we got on the road, and along the way we picked up my brother and his gf. We got to the big city late that night, and decided we were going to wind down with a couple of beers at a local sports bar nearby. Saturday we all got up and helped my mom move out some old furniture and set up her "new" bedroom set in the guest room. It was only 9am and we had already worked up a big sweat! After working up a sweat, us girls were ready to head to the annual Holiday Mart for an all day long shopping extravaganza! We had so much fun, and even had to stop a few times for a beer break (yeah, they sold beer, wine, and mixers to help you spend more money...genius idea if you ask me!)!! At the very end we couldn't find my mom; we were pretty sure that the security guards kicked her out because she was probably passed out in the corner somewhere! Low and behold we found her in the middle of this huge conference room empty handed, because she downed her Amaretto Sour in like 2.5 seconds (we were still working on our beer)! We ended up getting some really neat stuff! Here are some pictures we took on my phone (sorry for the horrible quality) of stuff we loved but didn't end up buying (we were just being goofy)!
Saturday night we went out to one of our good friends new house they just bought. It is really cute, wish I would've gotten some pictures! But we couldn't stay very long because we had to get up super early for the Chiefs game. I think I ended up getting 5 hours of sleep after a really long day of moving furniture and shopping! We survived though! We went out really early to get in line to get a good tailgate spot, like we were there by 8 and the gates didn't open until after 8:30. We got an awesome spot! We played Ladder Toss, grilled up some wings, hot dogs, and hamburgers, and I made some of these Peanut Butter Bars (which were to die for, btw...thanks to Mandy over at Sugar Bee Craft Edition - I'll post about those another time!), and drank a few beers before heading into the game. The Chiefs Stadium was renovated after last season, and they did such a great job! The Chiefs played amazingly awesome, it was such a great game! Here are some pictures...
