It's been a little quiet around here for awhile now. I have a few posts lined up if I could just get them finished. But anyways, until then, here is OUR EXCITING NEWS!!! Baby Myers is due July 2015, and we can't wait! This has been a long time coming for us, and we couldn't be more thrilled!

House is FOR SALE!

Not sure many of you read my post back in January about things that have been going on/us working towards...but we finally listed our house for sale last week and it goes out in the local newspaper this week! Eeek so exciting, nerve-racking, and bitter-sweet all at the same time!

The last couple months we've been busy going back & fourth with our future house stuff, got that contract signed, and waiting on the title company to do their thing. And we've also been busy getting our bathroom & kitchen redone/updated, plus other little things to get the house ready. In the middle of all of that, I've help hosted one of my besties (Mel) baby showers in KC (I'll do a post on that soon), we celebrated our 2nd anniversary this last weekend (crazy time is flying), seen George Strait in concert for the 4th time (and apparently the last), D busy with his Fire Fighter 1 classes & test, D passing his Fire Fighter 1 test (now he's certified and registered -- so unbelievably proud of my husband) and tried to stay completely sane while being so darn busy. Well we've survived, now just to get our house sold! :)

Oversized detached garage

Bathroom (you can't see all of our updates, but the toilet is one of them.
The shower/tub we completely ripped out and put a new tub & shower walls up. It looks so much better!

Bedroom

Kitchen - we added the backsplash finally, and we LOVE it! We wished we would've done it sooner!

Our home is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, with oversized detached garage. The house has been recently renovated/updated, partial basement w/ crawl space, and completely fenced in backyard with a small garden shed. The oversized garage measures 30'x48', has concrete floors, heated, and was built 3 years ago. If you know anyone looking for a home in "smalltown" western ks, please have them contact me for more details.

Headed to Cozumel & Our Honeymoon 1 year later!

I haven't posted a whole lot this year...I've just been in a rut lately. I've been busy trying to enjoy life and everything is has to offer, that I just haven't felt like sharing a whole lot. I hope that changes, but our summer is about to get really crazy (once again), so we will see how things go.

On a much happier and excited note, we head to Cozumel Mexico this week! We are going down with some friends, will stay for a week, and then come home! As you read here, a few months ago we were trying to decide between Cabo & Cozumel. Seeing that I didn't receive any feedback, we made our decision based on price and availability.

We are going with Mel, her husband Dustin, and another couple. I couldn't be anymore excited for this trip, it's like a late anniversary get away (we just celebrated that 1 month ago).

I also realized that I never blogged about our honeymoon we took to The Bahamas! We were there for 6 days, and loved every minute of it! We stayed at Sandals Emerald Bay in Great Exuma. OMG, talk about an amazing resort! The views were breathtaking, the resort staff was always so very friendly, food was pretty good, and the drinks were awesome!

We did a lot of activities at the resort: Golf, lay out by the pool & ocean, massages, walk up & down the pretty beach, swim, canoe, and participated in the events during day/night. We also took an excursion that we booked through the resort, which later found out you could get it cheaper if you booked outside the resort (same excursion company, and places visited). It was amazing! It was probably a 4-5 hour tour, went to several islands and stopped, fed iguanas grapes, went snorkeling, saw million dollar islands/mansions owned by celebrities, and just enjoyed the whole ocean. We didn't get to swim with the pigs, which I was bummed about, but that was a little more than we wanted to spend.

We met 2 awesome couples, who we still keep in touch with on facebook! 1 was from TX, and the other was from KS (about 2.5 hours from where we live). Such a small world! We quickly became friends with Kevin & Kelly (KS), and Michelle & Pat (TX). Michelle & Pat were married on the same day as us, and Kevin & Kelly were celebrating their anniversary (something they do every year). We did a lot of things together in the evenings, so much fun!

Anyways, as we gear up for Mexico, I just thought I would share our honeymoon with you all. If you are thinking about going to the Bahamas, DO go to Sandals Emerald Bay! The town itself isn't a huge city like Nassau, but the scenery is gorgeous! We felt like we were almost on a secluded island. If you have any questions about Emerald Bay Sandals, leave a comment!!

Happy Memorial Day, everyone!! :)

We had a fabulous weekend together! It started off Friday with Anniversary massages at one of my favorite places to go, Rock Haven! It's like a little piece of heaven in the country! One word: Amazing.

After our massages we went into town and had Italian for supper, and then met up with my cousin's family for drinks and to listen to some live music. Great night!

Saturday, we started off the day having breakfast at the hotel, and then haircuts. I got about 3-4" cut off, which is a lot considering how long my hair was. It's still got some length, but shorter than what I've been used too in several months. I love it though for Spring & Summer, plus my hair grows super fast! We then headed to my {small} hometown to visit with family, and 2 very special visitors from France. Quick fill in: Mirelle & Marteen were our families guests from France. Mirelle was a foreign exchange student my grandparents hosted, the same year my dad was a senior, the graduated together. This is her & Marteen's 2nd time to visit since then, they are best friends from growing up together. Although I've met them both before, I don't remember as I was a little baby then, thinking it was in the late 80's. They are staying with my grandparents for another week, and then they will be flying back to their home in France. So Saturday we visited with them, the guys shot trap, and then we ate a wonderful BBQ that was catered. Saturday night, D & I, and my brother, Ashley, and cousins all hit the town; they were having a street dance!

Sunday, my bestie Ashley (brothers gf), made us an Anniversary Breakfast. It was so thoughtful of her, we enjoyed it! Then we loaded everything up, made our rounds to visit and say goodbye, and then off we went. We stopped and got some plants for a small garden we plan on planting this year, some meat to grill on our new (new to us) grill/smoker, and then had our anniversary supper. Dustin filled me in on some sad/disappointing news that somehow our top tier from our wedding cake couldn't be found. I was super bummed, as I was looking forward to eating it with my husband. So at 9:30pm, D's parents showed up with a chocolate cake for us to enjoy, which cheered me up. Very thankful for them!

So all in all we had a great weekend, and looking forward to the year to come!! :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to post a quick HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of you who actually take the time to read my blog! I know I haven't been the greatest at posting lately, we've just been on the go and I haven't had a whole lot of time.

We are off today to go visit D's grandma in Iowa who we haven't seen in 2 years, so it will be nice to see & spend some time with her. I talked D into going Black Friday shopping with me, or actually Thursday evening is when we'll head out after having our family time. I normally go with my Mom and Ashley, but this year I will be blessed with my hubby's help! :)

I hope you all have a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING, and be sure to eat lots of food and spend a lot of time with your families. And to everyone traveling and braving the crowds, be safe!!

Happy Birthday to my amazing Fiance!!

Today is D's 29th birthday!
Isn't he so handsome?  I just LOVE him to pieces, and in less than 2.5 months he will be...
MY HUSBAND!!!

Eeeeks, super exciting, I know!!

Anyways, this D is spoiled already!  Last night I made him his birthday supper (a day early, I know), some delish Sausage, Egg, and Cheese breakfast pockets (recipe to come later) so we could have breakfast together this morning, and made his requested birthday dessert...No Bakes!  He's such a simple man, love him!
Tonight we are going over to his parents house for Steaks and Asparagus.  Yum, he has great taste!
Tomorrow morning we are off for a little road trip with Ashley and Brett.
We are going to see Gorgeous Strait and Martina McBride in concert tomorrow night, which we are soooo excited about!  I got Dustin tickets for Christmas, since it was the weekend of his birthday.
This will be our 3rd time that we've seen him in the 5 years we've been together.
It's crazy that each concert has been around the same time we met (or pretty close too)...

1st concert: March 2, 2007 - George Strait, Ronnie Milsap, and Taylor Swift
2nd concert: April 9, 2010 - George Strait, Reba McEntire, and LeeAnn Womack
3rd concert: February 18, 2012 - George Strait and Martina McBride

Anyways, I'm just as excited to see him for the 3rd time as I was the first time around.  He is one man that ages gracefully...hello!  And I'm excited to see Martina, I haven't seen her before, but I have heard she's amazing.  Here are some pictures from the last concert in 2010...

Hello George!

And Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Love You, It Just Comes Natural!

Here's to a wonderful birthday weekend for D...HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE!!! I LOVE YOU! :)

I'm Thankful...

Today is Thanksgiving, and I'm really excited to spend it with my family and eat all of the wonderful food!  However before I do so, Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we are Thankful for, so I thought I would share a few my "list"...

I'm Thankful for...
  • My amazing, supportive family that has been there for me through the good & the bad!
  • My soon-to-be in-laws for welcoming me into their family with open arms, and loving me for being me!
  • My soon-to-be hubby, who loves and supports me. He's also been there for me through the good & the bad, and loves me for me.  He makes me smile and laugh constantly!! :)
  • Our warm cozy little home.  We have lived there almost 1.5 years, and already have created many of memories there.
  • Our fur baby, Bernie!  He is so dang cute, makes me laugh all the time, and fills our hearts with joy!
  • My job...times are tough, so thankful I have the opportunity to work for family.
  • Best Friends...they are there for me no matter what.  Great for laughs, a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, and all around awesome!  You know who you are ;)  HUGS!
  • Stress-free wedding planning, so far. Enough said.
  • A blog to write/type out my thoughts, share my recipes, and create projects!  And of course my lovely followers/readers who take the time to read!  This has turned into a wonderful thing for me!
  • Our Military, especially my family and friends who have/are fighting for our country.  I can't express the love and respect I have for each and everyone of you, as well as your families.  May God Bless each and everyone of you! :)
  • My health. Yes I've been "sick" a few times this year, and currently am fighting a cold, but nothing life threatening. For that I am thankful.
  • The yummy food that I'm about to gorge myself in, and the family that I am able to spend this Thanksgiving with.
...And saving the best for last...
  • I'm so very thankful for the Lord! He listens to my every prayer; though He might not answer right away, I know He hears me.  Thankful for every "curve ball" He's ever thrown at me, thankful that He gave me Dustin, and thankful that he has brought me to where I am today. Everything I listed above is because of Him.  THANK YOU LORD!
I am praying for each and everyone of you to have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!!!  Be sure to tell those that you love and care about that you are Thankful for them. :)  HAPPY THANKSGIVING, Y'ALL!

Just Ask Bucket List

I've been a little slow at posting here lately, I blaming the time change and weather!  So today is a little random blog post, which I saw over at Today's Creative Blog and thought I would join in.  I will share some things with you that are on my bucket list...

This is my entry in the Just Ask Bucket List Getaway Giveaway. Just Ask offers a breast and ovarian cancer screening and is encouraging people to share 15 things that I want to enjoy in my lifetime as a reminder to be aware of my health. Want to enter? Head over to TodaysMama.com to get the details.

1. Visit all 50 states - So far I've been to: Kansas (duh), Missouri (also lived there), Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Washington.

2. Go back to Europe - My senior year in HS we went to: Germany, Poland, Austria, and Czech Republic. I.want.to.go.back.

3. Live in a humongous house out in the country.

4. Have a cabin in the mountains.

5. Meet George Strait (omg!)

6. Own my own little business - would love to have a coffee/bakery shop, or even a fun little boutique!

7. Open an Etsy shop - to sell my fun tiles, coasters, etc.  Maybe after the wedding?!

8. Ride in a Hot Air Balloon.

9. Swim with the dolphins.

10. Go diving and see the Coral Reef.

11. Learn how to ski - totally know the basics, but I'm a huge scared-y cat/clumsy when it comes down to it. I want to go on the blues and blacks with my babe and not freak out!

12. Travel all over the world...heck see 1 & 2, plus other countries and islands!

13. Like Salad and eat it often - anyone that knows me knows I hate salad. It always looks so good, just can't get passed the "dirt" flavor!

14. Have my own crafty space/room.

15. Own an old Chevy Pickup - a late 70's early 80's model...makes my heart flutter a little bit!

Some of mine might cost a lot of money, some are most definitely do able, and a few might be a stretch.  But hey, it's my bucket list so I can dream...right?!  I thought it was something fun and different to blog about, plus I get a chance to win a trip or a $500 gift card.  If you want to participate, head on over to TodaysMama and link up your Bucket List, but hurry it ends November 12th.

Down & Out...

...I was, I should say.  My weekend wasn't the greatest.  We were supposed to go back to my {small} hometown, but that didn't happen.  It started off by me having to leave work super early, because I felt terrible.  My stomach was killing me, I was nauseous, and just felt weird.  Good thing I went home, because I ended up being really sick with the stomach flu.  Remember last week when I said Dustin had food poisoning?  Apparently it wasn't food poisoning, I had the same crap that invaded his body for 2.5 days.  I ended up running a 101 temp for like 6 hours, finally broke about 2:30am.  I had the worse aches & pains I've had in my entire life, I thought I was dying!  Once the fever broke, I didn't hurt anymore.  Saturday I felt pretty good, just not back to normal, so I pretty much just vegged all day long with Bernie.  Sunday rolled around and I felt like a brand new person!!  The weather was gorg out, we cleaned house, did laundry, and started on a couple projects I've been wanting to do for awhile.  I had so much energy, it was amazing!!

Today I'm tons better, and when I came to work I was surprised with an unexpected bonus and a raise!!  Wahoo!!  My Monday's don't usually start off too well, but honestly it's been a great day for me!!

As for the mentioned projects above, no sneak peeks, you'll just have to wait.  I'll give you a hint though...it involves spray paint!!! :)

Did you do anything fun over the weekend????

Lacking

So sorry for the lack of posts lately.  Things have been a little crazy around here!  Saturday we went to the Fall National races to watch our friend race the last race of the season, and to watch some other engines that our company built race.  Sunday D ended up with food poisoning, so he was out of commission until this morning.  Yesterday I had a dentist appointment, so I was gone half the day.  Bernie is back to his normal crazy little self, thank goodness!!  Although, I think he keeps wondering where the wet dog food went...he kind of loves that stuff!!  I'm also gearing up for my next Funky Zebra Party this weekend...Ashley (bestie) is the host!  I'll be loading up tomorrow afternoon, bowling tomorrow night, and leave to go to my {small} hometown after work Friday for the weekend.  Should be a great time!

At the races...we were a little dirty!

Anyways, just a little update on what's going on with us lately.  I'll be back tomorrow with a yummy Biscuit recipe!!

Old Time Photos

This last weekend my grandparents came to visit us.  I love it when we get visitors, it makes me feel loved! ;)  Saturday we hung around the house, took them around town, and showed them where we work.  Saturday night we took them out for supper, and my dad ended up meeting up with us.  After that we took them to a nearby county fair, they had sprint car races (which is the type of racing motors D helps build), turns out it was their first race.  They really enjoyed it, and to top it off one of our motors took 2nd!  He would've taken first, but on the last lap, some guy decided to run up on his wheel and almost spun him out.  We weren't very happy about it, but at least he took 2nd (the past 2 races before that he took 1st, so that's great!).

Sunday I cooked them a yummy breakfast consisting of  Bacon (cooked on the grill, soo yummy!), scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast, and some fresh watermelon.  It was delish!  Then off to Dodge we went to check out the Boot Hill Museum...or so we thought.  We got there, they also had their annual summer celebration going on, so we strolled the vendors, bought me a really cute hat, and off to the museum gift shop we went.  We just missed the gun fight reenactment, which would've been fun to watch, but kind of glad, because it was 100 degrees out.  So we settled on getting some old time pictures taken...it was so much fun!  It only took them about 5 minutes to take a few different shots and we were done.  I would love to do this again!
I think Grandpa & D look awesome!
go ahead, click it to make it larger
This one makes me giggle!
click it to make it larger.
After that we took them out to the casino, had a snack, D lost $20 in 5 minutes, and back home we came!  Last night we hung around the house, cooked them supper, and took them over to D's grandparents to meet each other.  They left this morning.  It was a really nice weekend, and I cherish the time I am able to spend with my family.

Last night we met with our photographer for the first time, pretty stoked about them doing our pictures!  The rest of the week we will gear up for some more visitors from the {big city}, my bestie Aimee & her fiance Ryan!  They will be here Friday afternoon and I'm super stoked!!

My hott fireman!

Last weekend was our county fair, and Friday evening they had a little parade.  I just had to go to see my future hubby, he looked so handsome up on the truck!  He wasn't in his normal get up, but still pretty hott lookin'!! ;)  The firemen worked at the fair Friday and Saturday nights in the beer garden.  So I went out and supported them, and danced to the bands!  It was a lot of fun!!

There he is!! :)

The newest edition, pretty!

Goodbye Taurus, it's been a great 6 years!

I did it.  I sold the Taurus.  I can't believe it only took me a 1/2 day to find a really interested buyer, and today the guy made it official.  He bought my old car for his soon-to-be 16 year old daughter.  We had a great 6 years together!

So here's to you Ford Taurus, aka Silver Bullet, aka Bomb, aka POS, aka "Chevy" Taurus!!  **raises imaginary beer while at work**

It feels great to have that stress off of my back, and to close that chapter!  On to the next... :)
